• Youth Health Professional 

Young Health Professionals (YHP) Program is an educational and experiential program for youth and young adults ages 16-22 interested in careers in the health professions and medicine. Students choose from a variety of programs and attend classroom sessions at the ProMedica Ebeid Institute, Mercy College and Owens Community College for 2-6 hours per week. Program trainings range from 4 to 16 weeks. Tuition and fees for each course varies. Students who complete the program and meet the program requirements are awarded a Certificate of Completion. Student participants interact with faculty and develop relationships with professional mentors to explore careers in Medicine, Nursing, health professions such as Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Radiological Sciences, Physician Assistant Studies, Dental Assistant, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Biotechnology, and Couple and Family Therapy, Pharmacy, and the Biomedical Sciences.
 

• Healthy Start

Located just minutes away from the Gateway Youth Development administrative office, the ProMedica Ebeid Institute features a grocery store, teaching kitchen, computer lab and two large classrooms. The space allows for community programs such as cooking and nutrition classes, fitness classes, first aid & CPR classes and health screenings. Gateway youth will attend classes lead by Chefs and dietitians, teaching participants to shop smarter, use nutrition information to make healthier choices and cook delicious, affordable meals.
